History - This place was one of the main Jaincentres of North Karnataka. According to the inscriptions it is said that a Jain temple named Kusumajinalya was constructed in the 12 century by a person named Kalashetty of the Yapaniyasangha sub sect of Jainism. Since the Jain temple here was destroyed in the due course the 3 feet high idols of Chaturvishanthi Tirthankara and Kayotsarga Parshwanatha were installed at the entrance of the Government Higher Primary Kannada School for Boys.

Guidance - This temple being situated in the Dharwad district has good transport facilities from Dharwad.
