DRONAGIRI

 

Main Deity - Nearly 2 feet high, white coloured idol of Bhagawan Adinatha in the Padmansana posture.

History - We can find a huge group of 27 temples on the hill at Drongiri.  Not much evidence is available about the history of the place. But the temple architecture and the ruins found on the hill give an evidence that the history of the place is very old. It is said that Acharya Gurudutta had meditated on this hill. We can find a cave on the hill where Acharya Gurudutta had meditated. The foot idols of Acharys Gurudutta are found in the cave.We can find two more Jain temples near the foot of the hill.

Guidance - Drongiri is at a distance of 7 Kms from Malharaand 96 kms from Malhara. The boarding and lodging facilities are available at the foot of the hill.
