Sardarsahahar (Churu District, Rajasthan), May 11, 2010: Acharya Sri Mahapragyaji Mahraj the 10th Acharya of Jain Swethambar Terapanth Samaj passed away at Sardarsahar due to cardiac arrest. He was 90. He was born on June 10, 1920 in Jhunjhun district of Rajasthan. He was conferred as the 10th Guru of the Swethambar sect in 1995. He formulated the well organized Preksha meditation system in the 1970s. He also developed “Jeevan VIgyan” – “the since of living” education system, a practical approach for the balanced development of a student and his character building. He undertook the mammoth ‘Ahimsa Yatra’, a journey on foot to advance the cause of non violence. – Jain Heritage Centres News Service |
