CHAMPAPURI
Main Deity- Nearly one and half feet high white colored idol of bhagwanan Vasupujya Swami in Padmasana posture.
History- This is the only place where all the five kalyanas- Chyavan, birth, diksha, attainment of omniscience and attainment of moksha of bhagwan Vasupujya took place. It is said that Bhagawan Adinatha, Bhagwan Parshwanatha and Bhagawan Mahavira had their in this place. Bhagawan Mahavira had his third and twelfth monsoon stay at this place.
On the fourteenth day of the bright half of the month of Ashada- the day of Nirvana of Bhagawan Vasupujya special poojas are done to the God. Many idols are installed in the temples depecting the diffrent Kalyanas of Bhagwan Vasupujya. In the upper part of the temple paintings describing the life of Shripal and Mayana are seen.
Many Jain saints like Muni Dharmaghosh, Muni Padmarath, Ashok and Anchal attained salvation at this place. This place being a Siddhakshetra many ascetics like Anchal,Ashok and Padamrath attained salvation at this place. An ancient temple of Champanala is seen at this place.
Guidance- Champapuri is situated at a distance of 6 kilometers near the Bhangalpur railway station. Buses and private vehicle facilities are available to this place. Boarding and lodging facilities are availabel in the premises of the temple.
