Surat (Gujarat), May 26, 2012: A Jain muni Maitri Prabh Sagar has begun a fast unto death to demand closure of all slaughter houses in the city.

He is on a fast opposite district collector's office at Athwa from 9:30 am, Saturday. When he and his supporters arrived at the venue, seven of them were detained by police but were released later.
