Bhadreshwar

    History – Bhadreshwar was earlier called by the name Bhadravathi. The temple is situated in the open space spreading to an area about nearly two and a half lakh square feet. The three doors and the arched gate of the temple stand as an outstanding example of art and architecture. The temple is 38 feet high, 80 feet broad and 150 feet long. We can find the attractive canvas paintings depicting the life of Bhagawan Mahavir and Jain pilgrimage places. In the temples, there are 218 pillars and 146 idols of God. In this temple we can find the idols of Ganadhar Sudharma Swami, Vagheshvaridevi, Chakreshvaridevi, Mahakalidevi, Risikeshdevi, Saraswatidevi and Kalyansagasuri Maharaj Saheb .

    References indicate that the temple was renovated by Shrimalis in the year 1134 and by Seth Sri Jagdu Shah, a renowned donor of Gujrat, in the year 1314 of the Vikrama era. When this city was ruined in the course time, the idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha was protected by a Jain monk. In the year 1688 of the Vikram era, Sheth Vardhaman Shah renovated this sacred place and formally installed the idol of Bhagawan Mahavira. In the year 1939 of the Vikrama era the temple was again renovated by Mithabai, the wife of Sheth Monsi Tejsi.

    How to Reach – This place is also known as Bhradeshwar Vasahi. The nearest railway station of Gandhidham is at a distance of 35 kilometers. Mundra and Kutch are 27 and 80 Kms kilometers respectively from this place.

    Main Deity – Nearly 2 feet high, white coloured idol of Bhagawan Mahavira in the Padmasana posture.
