Metrana

    History – According to an inscription it is said that the  temple was constructed on the second day of the bright half of the month of Ashadh in the year 1343 of the Vikram era. It is indicated that this temple belongs to a period prior to the fourteenth century of Vikram era. A story tells that a Shravaka got the hint about the ancient idols in a dream and accordingly, this idol along with the idols of Shantinath, Kunthunath, and Padmaprabha Swami were found in the year 1899 of the Vikram era. On the auspicious third day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh of the year 1947 of the Vikram era, these idols were installed. On the fifteenth day of the bright half of the months of Kartik and Chaitra and thirteenth day of the bright half of the month of Magasar, a fair is held here every year.

    How to Reach – The railway station at Metrana is at a distance of two kilometers from the temple. This railway station on the Mehsana – Kakosi railway line, is at a distance of 16 kilometers from the city of Siddhapur. Dharmashalas and Bhojanashalas are found in this place.

    Main Deity – Nearly one feet high, white – colored idol of Bhagawan Adinatha in the Padmasana Posture.
