Sherisa

    History – Earlier Sherisa was a part of the city of Sonpur. The relics and pillars of the year 1500 of the Vikram era which are seen even today give an indication of the antiquity of this place. The idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha was installed by Devendrasurisvarji as the idol of Lodhan Parshwanatha in the 18th century. This place has a centuries old prosperity. In the new temple last built by the rich merchant Sarabhai Dahyabhai of Ahmedabad in the year 2002 of the Vikram era, this idol was installed by Acharyashi Vijaynemisurishvarji on the 10th day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh. The idol of Padmavathidevi in the Naroda temple is one of the remains of the ancient idols of this place.

    How to Reach – Sherisa is a small village found on the way to Rancharda from Kalol on the Ahmedabad-Mehsana road. The nearest railway station of Kalol, is at a distance of 8 kilometers. Bus service and private vehicles are available here. Good boarding and lodging facilities are available at this palace.

    Main Deity – 66 inches high, black-colored idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha in the Padmasana posture.
