Chikkodi

    History – We can find two Jain temples at Chikkodi. Among them the temple of Bhagawan Adinath with the idol of Bhagawan Adinath in the semi padmasana posture is very ancient and is said to have been built in the year 1592 A.D. It was renovated in the year 1988. The 39 feet high mamasthambha found in front of this temple is very attractive. We can find the Patashala, Shruta Bhandar and the muni nivas in the premises of the temple. The other temple dedicated to Bhagawan Parshwanath was built in the year A.D. 1972.

    How to Reach – Chikkodi is situated at a distance of 576 Kms from Bangalore and 72 Kms from Belgaum. Good transport facilities are available to Chikkodi from Belgaum and other places of Karnataka.

    Main Deity – Idols of Bhagawan Parshwanath and Adinath.
