Kalkandur

    History – Kalkandur is a small hamlet situated in the Somavarapet taluk of Coorg district. The temple of Bhagawan Parshwanath here is said to have been was constructed in the year A.D. 1380. Later the renovation works were under taken in the year 1975 and 2001. The pratishta mahotsav of the renovated temple was conducted under the guidance of His Holiness Swasti Sri Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattarakha Maharaj of the Jain Muth, Kanakagiri in the year 2001.

    How to Reach – Kalkanduru is situated at a distance of 10 kilometers from Somavarpet and has got good transport facilities from somavarpet and Coorg.

    Main Deity – Stone idol of Bhagawan Parshwanath in the padmasana posture.
