Badnavar

    History – This idol of Bhagawan Adinatha was installed about 2250 years ago by King Samprati, the grandson of Emperor Ashoka. It is said that there were many temples along with a huge population of Jains at this place. Though the temple here was ruined in the due course of time the idol of Bhagawan Adinatha was not ruined this gives us an indication of the holiness of the idol. This temple was renovated recently by Sri Motivijayji in the year 1984 of the Vikrama Era. Even today many miracles takes place in this temple, impressed by the miracle of the temple people from different religions visit this temple to get their problems solved. On the first day of the bright half of the month of Bhadrapad every year, small lamps are lighted to worship the idol and a fair is held on this day. On this day drops of water are seen on the walls of the temple which is a fine example of the miracles taking place in this place. We can find another 200 years old temple with Manibhadravir as the main deity.

    How to reach – The nearest railway station of Badnagar on the dhar-Ratlam railway line, is at a distance of 26 kilometers and Ratlam is at a distance of 40 kilometers from this temple. It is 90 Kms from Indore on Neemach Road. Bus service and private vehicles are available. Board and lodging provisions are there.

    Main Deity – Nearly 4 feet high, white-colored idol of Bhagawan Adinatha in the Padmasana posture.
