Talanpur

    The history of this place is very ancient. It is said that this place was called by the names Tarapur, Taranpur and Tungiyapattan. On an idol in the temple, there is an inscription telling that it was installed in the year 612 of the Vikram era. It is said that a farmer found 13 ancient idols and the idols were installed in their several temples. There is a mention that Pethod Shah, the advisor to the King of Mandavgadh built a temple here in the thirteenth century. This shows that it was a city of Jains for centuries. The idol at this temple was reinstalled under the presence of Acharya Rajendrasurishvarji in the year 1950 of the Vikram era. A fair is held here on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Kartik. Besides this temple, there is a huge Digambara temple dedicated to Bhagwan Mallinatha. This temple was constructed by Seth Rodji Meghrajji, Susari. In the Kuschi village there is Swetamabara temple.

    Main Deity – Nearly 3 feet 5 inches high, light blue coloured idol of Bhagawan Adinatha in the Padmasana posture. and 2 feet 6 inches high light blue coloured idol of Bhagwan Mallinatha in the Padmasana posture.
