Udayagiri

    History – There are 20 caves temples on the Hill. The cave temple No. 1 and 20 are having images of Jain tirthanakaras and Devs. The other caves are dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. Cave No. 20 ha s idols of Bhagwan parsvanath of 10 CAD and Idol of Bhagwan Adinath. From the inscription, it is known that The idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath was installed bya person named  Shanakar in the period of Kumar-Gupta. About half a Km from this place there is a Ancient jain temple where one could see  idol of Bhagwan Suparshwanatha in the kayotsarga.

    How to Reach – Udaygiri is 6 Kms from Vidisa  and 8 kms from Sanchi in MP.
