Ramtek

    History – The history of this tirth is believed to belong to the times of Bhagawan Munisuvrata. In the Padmapuran written by Acharya Raviseno is Vanshagiri(Ramtek), it is said that Ramchandraji built a number of Jain temples. The idol of Bhagawan Shantinatha installed here is believed to fulfill the desires of the devotees. There is also a very attractive Manastambh in front of this temple. Apart from this temple, we can find eight Jain temples in this place. It is said that Kalidas has written the famous epic ‘Meghdoot’ at Ramtek near the RamChandra ji Temple. Boarding and lodging facilities are available near the temple.

    How to Reach – The temple is situated outside the Ramtek town. It is about 50 Kms from Nagpur. Bus services and private vehicles are available to this place.

    Main Deity – Nearly 4 mts high, golden coloured idol of Bhagawan Shantinatha in the kayotsarga posture.
