Pudal

    History – It is said that the history of this palce is more than 2500 years.In the past, it was the capital of Jain kings. Kings of the Chowl dynasty built this temple. Since the idol is impressive and beautiful like Kesariyanath, this place is known as Kesarvadi. The credit of constructing this temple goes to Swami Rikhavadashiji. This was the place of his sadhana and literary activities. The idol of Goddess Padmavatidevi found here is very miraculous. In the premises of this temple we can find a beautiful temple built of marble with attractive pinnacle. compound, there is a beautiful pinnacled marble temple. In the upper story of this temple the idol of Sankeshwara Parshwanatha is being installed. The carving of Indra with fly-drives on the sides of Bhagawan, the three umbrellas, the Ashok tree, the bhamandal and others are very attractive.

    How to Reach – The temple is situated on the Red Hill in the Pudal village at a distance of 15 kilometers from Chenni. Good transport facilities are available to Pudal from Chennai. Boarding and lodging failities are available at Pudal.

    Main Deity – 4 feet high, black coloured idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha in the Padmasana posture (Swethambara Temple).
