Chandrapuri

    History – Chandrapuri situated on the banks of the river Chandravati has its history that begins from the times of Bhagawan Chandraprabha. It is in this place where the Chyavan, birth, diksha and attainment of omniscience of Bhagawan Chandraprabha has taken place. This has increased the historical importance of this place. We can find a mention of this place in many inscriptions and in the book ‘Vividh tirth Kalpa’ written by Acharya Jinaprabhasurishvarji. We can also find many hills of historical importance at this place. The remains and the inscriptions found in these hills provide a very good subject for study to the Archeologists and Historians.

    How to Reach – Is situated at a distance of 5 kilometeres from Kadipur and 23 kilometers from Benaras. Good bus and private vehicle facilities are available to Chandrapuri from Kadipur and Benaras are available. The boarding and lodging facilities are available at Chandrapuri.

    Main Deity – 18 inches high, white colored idol of Bhagawan Chandraprabha in the Padmasana Posture.
