Shauripur

    History – Shauripur is being named after Sauri of the Yadu dynasty. Shauripur is the land of Chyavan and birth kalyanas of Bhagawan Neminatha. It the book ‘Vividh Kalap’ written by one of the Acharyas of the 14th century there is a  mention of the renovation and the installation of the idol of Bhagawan Neminatha. Many Jain Ascetics have attained salvation from this place. Apart from the idol of Bhagawan Neminatha at the Digambara Jain temple we can find the idols of Bhagawan Munisuvrata, Chandraprabha, Mahavira, Adinatha and Vimalanatha  in the padmasana and the idols of Bhagawan Bahubali and Neminatha in the Kayotsarga. We can also find an idol of Kshetrapala at this temple. Apart from the Old Jain Digambar temple, The Baruamath Digambar Jain temple can also be found.

    Main Deity – Nearly 2 feet 6 inches high, black colored idol of Bhagawan Neminatha in Padmasana posture in the Swetambara temple. About 3 feet 6 inches high, black colored idol of Bhagawan Neminatha in the Padmasana posture in the Digambara temple.
