|
History- Kallahalli called by the name Dathupura is the place of the famous Kannada poet Third Mangarasa belonging to the Changanadu ruler Madavas family. Pandit Shanthiraja Shastry has said that the Chandranatha temple built by these Changanadu rulers is found in this place. But at present we cannot find an such temples in and arround this place. At present we can find the temple of Bhagawan Adinatha belonging to the 12th century. But the people here say that the present temple is of Bhagawn Chandranatha. The inscription found near the foot of the idol of Adinatha clarifies this doubt and says that it is an idol of Adinatha. At present this temple is being maintained by the family of the former Chief minister of Karnataka late Sri Devaraja Urs. |
