Laser show, grand cultural procession to mark Dharmasthala Mahamastakabhisheka

    Dharmasthala (Karnataka), 30th January 2019: A 15-minute laser show ‘Bahubali Ithihasa’ will be the main attraction of the 10-day anointment of Lord Bahubali that gets underway at Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala from February 9. Minister for irrigation, Kannada and Culture D K Shivakumar will inaugurate the laser show that will be staged every day, on February 9, noted D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, here on Tuesday.
    A cultural procession depicting ‘Bharatheshwara Digvijaya’ in its true splendour on February 13 from the bathing ghat to the main temple dwara, will be the other attraction of the event, Heggade told reporters. The procession will see people wearing costumes of different regions and others dressed up as soldiers to depict the grand entry of a ‘Chakravarthi’ coming back to his capital from a conquest with his prize catch, Heggade noted.
    Former PM H D Deve Gowda will inaugurate santha sammelan on February 8. Swastishree Charukeerthi Bhattaraka swami of Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola will deliver benedictions. Swastishree Lalithakeerthi Bhattaraka swami of Dhanashaale, Karkala, will preside. Seers Swastishree Devendrakeerthi Bhattaraka swami, Sri Gurudevananda swami, Sri Shantha Mallikarjuna swamiji, Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa swami and others will attend.
    Mahamastakabhisheka will be held during the day under the guidance of Acharya Sri 108 Vardhaman Sagar Muni and Acharya Sri Vatsalyavaridhi 108 Pushpadantha Sagar Muni, and various Aryika mathaji’s, he said. Saints led by Acharya Sri 108 Vardhaman Sagar muni and his disciples will make their ‘purapravesh’ to the Sri Kshetra on January 30, while Acharya Sri Vatsalyavaridhi 108 Pushpadantha Sagar Muni will do so on February 2.
    The saints will be housed at Chandranath Basadi and arrangements have been made for their stay. The anointment event will also see the daily feeding go on as usual at the dining halls of Sri Manjunatha Temple, he said, adding separate feeding arrangements are being put in place for devotees coming for Mahamastakabhisheka. Devotees will be free to go to Ratnagiri, where the monolith is housed even at night. Cultural programmes will be held every day. – News Courtesy: Times News Network
