Muni Maharaj leads protest against Girnar incident

    Bangalore (Karnataka), January 6, 2013: Muni 108 Sri Pramanasagarji Maharaj led the silent protest march at Bangalore against the attack on Muni 108 Sri Prabhalasagarji Maharaj in Girnar & defacing of manastambha & Chaturmukha idol on it. The protest that started from Sri Shanthinatha Swamy Digambar Temple in Wilson garden passed through all the important roads of Wilson Garden and concluded back at Wilson Garden temple. Around 800 people attend the 1.5 Km long protest rally.

    Sri D.Surendrakumar, president of Bharatiya Jain Milan; Sri Anil Sethi; Sri S. Jitendrakumar, president of Karnataka Jain Association (KJA); Sri Nitin H.P., executive director of WWW.JAINHERITAGECENTRES.COM; Sri J.Padmanabaiah. president of Sri Mahavira Sangh, HAL; Sri Bherulal Gangwal, president of Khandelwal Jain Samaj; Sri Y.C.Bhujabalaiah executive committee (EC) member of KJA; Sri Dhanaveer Gangawal of Digambar Jain Yuva Manch (DJYM) ; members of Khandelwal Jain Samaj; DJYM; Rajajinagar Jain Milan; Jain Milan west ad other organisations participated in the protest rally.

    Speaking on the occasion – Sri D.Suredrakumar, Sri Anil Sethi & Sri S.Jitendrakumar condemned the attack on Prabhalasagarji & felt that the attack on Jain munis who are living representatives of Tirthankaras is very painful. They urged the Gujarat Government to punish the guilty & provide proper protection to Jain munis/sadhus & Jain pilgrims visiting the state. They also called upon the Government of Karnataka to provide protection to Jains & Jain places of worship.

    Muni Sri Pramanasagarji said that the attack on Jain Munis is very painful & attack is condemnable. He called upon the Gujarat Government to honour the orders of Gujart high court & protect the Jains interest in their rights over Girnar hills. – Jain Heritage Centres News Service
