Shocking Attack on Digambar Jain Monks at Chanderi

    Chanderi (Madhya Pradesh), December 4, 2013: Digambar Jain monks Muni 108 Sri Pujyasagarji Maharaj, Muni 108 Sri Prabathsagarji Maharaj and Muni 108 Sri Abhayasagar Maharaj were attacked this morning at Chanderi at 11.00 am. They were attacked when they were on their way back after having their ahara (food). They were attacked by some miscreants who were holding swords in their hand. The monks after finishing their ahar had reached the Muni Nivas when this incident happened. The presence of Jain youuths and Shravanaks prevented any untoward incidents. They monks are safe. However, four Jain youths accompanying them have been injured badly. One boy Saurabh Jain is very serious and has been admitted at the hospital in Sagar. Arround 10,000 Jains and devotees from near by towns and villages have reached the incident venue and the police have taken stock of the situation and are closely monitoring it.
