MANNARGUDI
Main deity-
Copper coloured idol of Bhagawan Mallinatha in the
Padmasana posture.
History- It is believed that this temple was built during the
period of Chola dynasty in the twelfth century. The idols of Dharmadevi,
Saraswatidevi, Padmavatidevi, Jawalamalini and others in the temple are very
miraculous and impressive. Brahamotsava is arranged here every year on the tenth
day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh. This place is said to be the
birth place of Jeevandhar Swami.
