inches high, almond coloured idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha in the Padmasana
posture.
History- Pabhosa situated on the banks of the river Yamuna, has its
history starting from the time of Bhagawan Padmaprabha. Digambaras believe that
Pabhosa is the place of attainment of Diksha and omniscience of Bhagawan
Padmaprabha. The temple of Bhagawan Parshwanatha is situated on a hillock
with 175 steps. The idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha is said to to belong to 1st
century A.D. It is said that the idol of Bhagawan Parshwanatha was installed
here due to a dream of the priest. The colour of the idol of Bhagawan
Parshwanatha keeps changing, some times saffron coloured water drops are seen
dripping from the idol during the night. A fair is held here on the fifteenth
day of the bright half of the month of Chaitra every year.
Guidance- Pabhosa is situated at a distance of 10 Kilometers from Kaushambi and 70 Kms from Allahabad . The buses and private vehicles are available to Pabhosa from Allahabad and Kaushambi. The boarding and lodging facilities are avaialble at Pabhosa.
