Hassan – State Archaeology Museum

    The Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage since its inception in 1885 has been involved in conservation and restoration of antiques, artifacts and monuments. As a part of its activities, the department has established museum all over the state in different  district centres. The state archaeology museum at Hassan houses various idols that we found in different part of Hassan district and Karnataka. Five Jain idols have also been kept

    Jain idols found in different parts of the hassan district have also been exhibitied in this museum. Their details are as below:

    • Lord Adinath in padmasana from Yaliyur belonging to 12th century A.D.
    • Lord Parshwanath in padmasana from Jamboor belonging to 12th century A.D.
    • Lord Parshwanath in kayotsarga from Belagula belonging to 12th century A.D.
    • Lord Mahaveer in padmasana from Kammarige belonging to 12th century A.D.
    • Lord Mahaveer in padmasana from Arsikere belonging to 12th century A.D.
