Kheeda

    History – An ascetic was sitting under a banyan tree on the outskirts of the city. The people requested him to come and enlighten them about Jainism. The Acharya preached them Jainism and inspired them to follow the Jaina principles. The people expressed their willingness to follow Jainism and asked for a tirthankara idol. Acharya asked them to dig the ground under the banyan tree where he was sitting. Thus, while digging under the banyan tree, they got the beautiful idol Bhidbhanjan Parshwanatha. This is the event of appearance of God in the year 1516 of the Vikram era. This idol belongs to the times of King Samprati. The darshan and worship of the Jina’s idol, solves all the problems of the devotee. Its last renovation was accomplished in the year 2053. This is the birth – place of His Holiness Acharya Shri Udayratnaji and His Holiness Kapursurisvarji Maharaj Saheb. The 15th day of the months of Kartik and Chitra, have a special significance here. Besides this, there are eight temples in the Kheda district. The idols of the time of King Samprati and the idols in the Kayotsarga posture found during the excavation are very attractive.

    How to Reach – It is in the Patel locality of the Kheda City on the Ahmedabad – Mumbai high way. Nadiad, the nearest railway station of Kheda on the Ahmedabad – Bombay railway line. Nadiad is at a distance of 18 Kilometers from Kheda. A upashray, a pathshala and an ayamlilshala are found at this place. Besides this good boarding and lodging facilities are available at this place.

    Main Deity – 25 inches high and 21 inches wide white – colored idol of Bhagawan Bhidbhanajan Parshwanatha in the Padmasana posture.
