JAIN TIRTHANKAR IDOL BEING RESTORED BY A NON-JAIN FAMILY

+ At Kalasadamute Village, Honnavara Taluk, Uttara Kannada District, Karnataka, India.
+ Found by a non-Jain family while ploughing the fields a few years back.
+ Have constructed a small shelter in the field’s premises for the idol.
+ Idol hasn’t been discared even though it is mutilated.
+ Offer prayers by lighting the lamp every day.
+ Have appointed a Jain priest to visit the place & offer poojas as per Jain tradition on every Poornima (full moon day) & Amavasya (dark day) days every month.
+ Have set a precedence for the Jain community to follow.

Special thanks to Sri Vardhaman Indra (Manki) for helping us in the field work | Photos, literature & graphics – Nitin H.P., Bengaluru (HPN@JHC)
