Gommatgiri

    Gommatgiri/Gommatagiri is a small hillock located near Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

    Main Deity – Idol of Lord Bahubali in Kayotsarga.

    History – The concept of forming a place of Jain worship with the idol of Lord Bahubali was envisioned by the Late Digambar Jain Acharya 108 Sri Vidyananda Muni Maharaj while on his vihar/journey to Shravanabelagola in 1979. Late Samajjan Dulichand Sethi, Shantilal Patni, and Babulal Patodi took up the task of realizing the vision of Sri Vidyanandji Maharaj in 1981.

    Idols, Temples & Structures
    Bahubali Statue – It has the 21 feet high stone idol of Lord Bahubali in Kayotsarga as the main deity.
    Om Symbol – Right in front of the Bahubali idol about 25 feet away from the idol is seen the metal form of the Om symbol with Tirthankar idols on them.
    24 Tirthankar Temple – To the left of the Bahubali idol are seen the idol of 24 Tirthankars in Padmasana installed in separate sanctum sanctorums with a separate shikara for each one of them. The specialty is that the colour of these idols are similar to what has been mentioned in the Jaina Shastras.
    Pada/Charana – To the left of the idol are installed the Pada/Charan of Gautama Ganadhara and many other Acharyas.
    Manastambha – In front of the Bahubali idol about 100 aways from the idol is installed the 41 feet Manastambha.
    Acharya Sri Shanthisagarji Maharaj – Just in front of the Manastambha is installed the idol of Acharya Sri Shanthisagarji Maharaj in Payrankasana on a platform.
    Adinath Jinalaya – Just behind the Bahubali idol is seen the Adinath Jinalaya. It has the idol of Lord Adinath as the main deity.
    Hrim Mandir – This temple has the metals formation of Hrim symbol with Tirthankar idols on them.

    Dharmashala – Good boarding and lodging facilities are available at the Dharmashala besides the temples.

    Location – Gommatgiri/Gommatagiri is located at a distance of 15 km from the Indore railway station & bus station and 6 kms from the Indore Airport.
