Jatwada

    Jatwada is a Jain Heritage Centre with a newly constructed temple of Tirthankar Parshwanath. The temple is called as Sri 1008 Sankashtahara Parshwanath Digambar Jain Temple. The temple and other constructions over here have been constructed due the motivation and guidance of Jain Acharya 108 Sri Devanandi Muni Maharaj.

    Sri 1008 Sankashtahara Parshwanath Digambar Jain Temple – This temple has about 2 feet high black coloured idol of Sri Parshwanath in padmasana as the main deity. Along with the idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath we can also see the idols of Sri Sheetalnath Tirthankar to the left and Sri Munisuvrata Tirthankar to the right. Surrounding the temples walls on the ground floor are installed the idols of 24 Yakshis of all the 24 Tirthankaras of current times. 1st floor is seen the idol of Tirthankar Shanthinath as the main deity flanked by various other Digambar Jain idols. One of the other impressive aspects is the collection of about 5 inches high individual idols of 24 Tirthanakras in padmasana and are made of different coloured stones with body colours as specified in the Jain agamas.

    Idol of Adinath, Bharath & Bahubali – Behind the Parshwanath temple at Jatwada is seen Devanandi Sabha Gruha a wide hall to conducted Jain events. In the 1st floor of this hall are installed the idols of the 1st Tirthankar of Jainism Adinath in Kayotsarga posture flanked by the idols of Bharat and Bahubali.

    Bahubali Idol on Hill – Behind this idol is seen a hill. On climbing about 500 steps on this hill is installed an idol of Lord Bahubali in the open air.

    How to Reach – Jatwada is located at a distance of 17 Kms from Aurangabad and can be reached by road.
