Baghera

    History – It is said that the idol of Bhagawan Shanthinatha was installed in the Vikrama 1254 under the guidance of Sri Padmasena Maharaj. Many Jain idols of different sizes belonging to the 12 C AD were found at Baghera. These idols have been installed in  the Sri Shantinath temple and also at Bhagwan Adinatha temple. May be these idols were kept underground to protect them from the attack of invaders. The idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath was also found from a field here on 24-25th July 1972 AS, 24 idols( 5 of black stone and 19 of white) were found during excavation work for the foundation of a Dharmashala of Baba Ramdev by the villagers. These idols were installed in Bhagwan Shantinath Mandir. One should also visit the Parshvanath tekri outside the village where rock cut images of tirthankaras could be seen. People comes here to fulfill their ambitions and has great faith in the miraculous idol of Bhagwan Shantinath.

    How to Reach – Baghera is situated at a distance of 17 Kms from Kekdai and 97 Kms from Ajmer.

    Main Deity – About 9 feet high idol of Bhagawan Shanthinatha.
