Satyapur

    History – This history of this place belongs to the times of Bhagawan Mahavir. It is described in the ‘Jagachintamani Stotra’ that the ancient name of Sanchor was Satyapur or Satyapuri. The history of the present Jain temple here not known much. This temple was renovated in the year 1963. The impact of this place was so great that people of other religions became jealous. There is a reference that Alludin Khilji had taken the golden idol from here to Delhi. Also we can find a mosque at Satyapur which is said to be a Jain temple. This is the birth-place of the great poet Samaysundarji.

    How to Reach – The temple is in the center of the Sanchor village.The nearest railway station of Raniwada, is situated at a distance of 48 kilometers fro Satyapur. Boarding and lodging provisions are available in the village.

    Main Deity – White colored idol of Bhagawan Mahavira in the Padmasana posture.
