Six Jain idols found at Jainara Gutti in Hassan District, Karnataka

    Hassan, Karnataka, 12 March 2021: Six ancient Digambar jain idols have been discovered at Jainara Gutti in Hassan district on 12th March 2021 under the guidance of Muni 108 Sri Veerasagarji Maharaj. Of the 6 idols that have been found 4 of them are Jain Trthankar idols and 2 are Yakshi idols.

    The Tirthankar idols that have been found are as below:
    1. Tirthankar Munisuvrata black stone idol in padmasana about 2 feet high.
    2. Tirthankar Adinath two idols made of marble/white stone about 9 inches high, one of the idols is mutilated.
    3. Stone idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath in Padmasana about 11 inches high.
    4. Two idols of Padmavati Yakshi, one of them is made of stone, about 9  inches high and the other and the other one is about 3 inches, made of Panchaloha.

    Jainara Gutti is about 26 Kms from Hassan, the district center and in between Adaguru and Halebidu.
