Valuables worth Rs 50,000 stolen from temple

    Thane (Maharashtra), September 5, 2011: A cash and jewelery to the tune of Rs 50,000 was stolen from a temple at Bhiwandi, police said today.The Narpoli police probing into the case said that based on a complaint by the owner of the temple S M Malde, of Kharbhaon road, they had registered offence under sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC.According to them, the temple belonged to Jain community and located at Oswal Park.It was on the night of Saturday that some unknown thieves broke into the temple and stole the cash of Rs 1100 from the donation box.They also stole the jeweleries valued at Rs 21,000, besides a crown estimated at Rs 20,000. – News Courtesy: PTI
