Attack on Jain monk condemned

Bangalore (Karnataka), January 7, 2013: Members of Jain community staged a silent protest and took out a rally on Sunday in condemnation of the recent attacks on Jain temples and monks in Karnataka and Gujarat.

Members said they would submit a memorandum to the state governments against such incidents, requesting them to take action and provide safety to the community.

The rally comes in the wake of the defacement of Chaumukha Jain idol at Mandaragiri in Tumkur on  January 3 and the attack on a Jain muni at Girnar in Gujarat on January 1. The muni was stabbed four times in the stomach. -News Courtesy: The New Indian Express
