Karnataka Itihasa Academy’s 33rd Annual Conference at Hombuja

    Hombuja, 5th October 2019: The 33rd annual conference of Karnataka Itihasa Academy will be held from 18th to 20th October 2019. The conference being organized under the aegis of Hombuja Jain Math will be attended by over 300-350 delegates. The delegates will be presenting research publications related to Karnataka’s history, culture and inscriptions.



    “Itihasa Darshana” a compilatory volume comprising of research articles presented during the previous annual conference will be released during this conference.

    Dr T. V. Venkatachala Shastry will be presiding as the President of the 33rd annual conference to be held at Humcha, Hosanagara Taluk, Shivamogga, on 18th, 19th and 20th of October 2019.

    Endowments Awardees
    Dr. Vasundhara Filliozat, Mysuru is being conferred with ‘Itihasa Samskruthi Shree’ award established by B.R. R.  Family Charitable Trust for outstanding contribution to Karnataka Culture.

    Dr. Nagaiah J. M, Dharawada is being conferred with ‘Ba. Ra. Gopal Shasana Prashasthi’, an endowment Award for outstanding contribution in the field of inscriptions for the year 2018-19.

    Dr. Shilakantha Pattar, Badami is being conferred with ‘Samshodhana Shree’ award for outstanding research in the field of History. The award is established by Dr. M. G. Nagaraj, Smt Padma Virupakshaiah and Dr. M. G. Chandrakanth children of Smt. Gowramma and Shree. Gangadharaiah.

    Dr. Virupakshi Pujarahalli, Hospete is being conferred with ‘Nayaka Shree’ award which is established in the name of Prof. Lakshman Telagavi.

    Dr. Paramashivamurthy D.V.  Tumakuruis being conferred with ‘Nolamba Itihasa Prashasthi’ established by Melana Matada Late Sri V.S. Siddannaiah and Late Smt. Gangamma memorial Trust, Arsikere for outstanding contribution to the study of Nolamba dynasty.

    Dr. Vasanthalakshmi K, Bengaluru is being conferred with ‘Dr. Shreenivasa Havanur Memorial Award’ established by Dr. C. R. Shyamala for outstanding contribution in the field of History.

    Dr. Siddalingamma B. G. Ranebennur, is being conferred with ‘Sumangala Patil Prashasti’, established by B. C. Patil Trust, Koppala, for outstanding contribution by a woman scholar in Indic Studies .

    Shri M. B. Patil is being conferred with ‘Surya Keerthi’ award established by family of Late Dr Suryanatha U. Kamath for outstanding contribution in the field of History.

    Dr R. Mohana has been chosen for Dr. M. H. Krishna Merit Award for Best Paper in Archaeology presented at the 32nd Karnataka Itihasa Academy’s annual conference held at Badami. The award is established by Dr. Paddaiah K. Deccan College, Pune.
