Melsitamur

    History – The temple and the Jain Math are located on the one end of the melsittamur village. There are two temples. The first is a huge and artistic temple with main entrance of seven storied. The other temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Neminath. It is said that mahamunis Shri Sandhi and Pandit visited this place and constructed this temple. There is Jain Math run by Shri Laxmisen Pattaacharaya Swami. There is a rich collection of ancient idols of precious stone and gems in addition to numerous scriptures on Jainism. A 10 days festival called Brahmotsav is celeberated on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

    How to Reach – This place is 20 Kms from Tindivanam. The lodging and boarding facilities are available in the math.

    Main Deity – Idols of Bhagawan Parshwanatha and Bhagawan Neminatha.
