    Hebbal (Hukkeri Taluk, Belagvi District, Karnataka), 26th March 2023: An ancient idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath is in Paryankasana measuring about 2.5 feet has been discovered at Hebbala village. The idol was discovered while digging the ground for laying the foundation of a community hall at Hebbal village. 

    Looking at The idol’s sculpture we might conclude that it belongs to the Hoysala period (11th – 12th Century). The Tirthankar Idol is flanked by chowri bearers, it has a Mukkode above it’s head and attractive carvings of tendrils are seen besides the mukkode.

    Hebbal is a Village in Hukeri Taluk in Belgaum District of Karnataka State, India. It belongs to Belagavi Division . It is located 47 KM towards North from District head quarters Belgaum. 7 KM from Hukeri. 572 KM from State capital Bangalore/Bengaluru.
