19-year-old Jain girl from Gadag to turn sanyasi

    Hubballi (Dharwad District, Karnataka), November 29, 2016: Shrutikumari, a 19-year-old girl from Gadag, has decided to take “sanyasi deeksha”. Mahendra Singhi, Goutam Gulecha and Ashok Kothari, office bearers of Vardhaman Sthanakavasi Jain Shravak Sangh’s Bhagavati Deeksha Mahotsav Samiti, said that Shrutikumari Praveen Lunkad has decided to dedicate her life for the welfare of the world. “She will accept sanyasa at Ichalkaranji in Maharashtra on February 6. After taking sanyasa, she will spread the messages of truth, non-violence, sacrifice and human integrity given by Bhagwan Mahavir,” they said.
    Shrutikumari will be taken in a procession on Sunday. “It will start at Mutha Waghmal Buraji Foundation and reach Mahaveer Bhavan in Kanchagar Galli via Shimpi Galli, Javalisala, Belgaum Galli and Babasan Galli. She will be felicitated at 10am in the presence of Naresh Muniji, Vinay Muniji, Goutam Muniji,” the organization stated. – News Courtesy: Times of India
