At an age when I was only beginning to understand the richness of our heritage, his words ignited in me a deep and lasting interest in Jainism, Jain literature, history, and research. Looking back today, I realise that those formative experiences played a significant role in shaping the path I eventually chose.
Years later, I had the joy of meeting him again at a programme in Hombuja. When I shared with him the work being carried out through Jain Heritage Centres, he listened with great interest and genuine happiness. He warmly appreciated our efforts, affectionately patted me on the back, and said, ‘Young people like you must actively participate in the service of Jainism. Continue this work with the same dedication and enthusiasm. May your efforts be blessed with success.’
Those simple yet profound words were more than encouragement—they were a blessing from a revered scholar whom I had admired since childhood. They have remained with me ever since, giving me strength and reaffirming my commitment whenever the journey became challenging. Today, as I bid farewell to him, I feel a deep sense of personal loss.
