Bahoriband

    History – This place was one of the important Jain centre of Madhya Pradesh. The idol of Bhagwan Shantinatha is famous for its miracles and is called as Khanuadeo by local people. Previously this idol was  found in an open place. Now this is being looked after by Jains. This idols is said to of 12th or 13th century A.D. 16 Jain idols were got at this place during the land excavation works, they include the idols of some Tirthankaras and Yakshi Ambika. Numerous jain idols are found scattered in this place. Recently few Jain idols with Bhagawan Adinatha as the main deity were installed in the Dharmashala.

    How to reach – Bahoriband is at a distance of 64 Kms from Jabalpur and 24 Kms from Sihora road station in Sihoratehsil of Jabalpur district. Bus service is also available. The temple is on the Camoor hillock surrounded by Suhar river.   Boarding and lodging facilities are available in the dharamshala.

    Main Deity – Nearly 4 meter high idol of Bhagawan Shantinatha.
