Online Certificate Course in Jain Art and Architecture to Begin on 3rd October

    Bengaluru/Chennai, October 3, 2025: Jain Heritage Centres in collaboration with, the Research Foundation for Jainology (RFJ), Chennai will inaugurate the Certificate Course in Jain Art and Architecture through an online session on October 3, 2025, at 7 PM IST. This course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Jain temples, inscriptions, sculptures, paintings, and other elements of Jain heritage, combining scholarly study with practical field insights.

    The course has been shaped under the expert guidance of Dr. Priyadarshana Jain, Head of the Department of Jainology, Madras University. Her vision and mentorship have been instrumental in designing the curriculum, ensuring that it integrates philosophical, historical, and artistic perspectives of Jain tradition. Dr. Jain’s insights form the cornerstone of the course and will guide participants through the study of Jain art, architecture, and culture.

    The Course Outline will be presented by Shri Nitin H P, founder of Jain Heritage Centres and experienced Jain researcher, who will share the structure, modules, and fieldwork plan. While Shri Nitin H P brings his extensive research and documentation of Jain heritage to the course, it is Dr. Priyadarshana Jain’s guidance that shapes its academic depth and direction.

    The inaugural session will also feature scholarly addresses by eminent experts Dr. Hampa Nagarajaiah (HamPaNa), Professor Emeritus and internationally acclaimed Jain scholar, and Dr. Shanti Swaroop Sinha, Associate Professor at Banaras Hindu University, highlighting the historical, artistic, and cultural significance of Jain art and architecture.

    Participants from across India and abroad will be introduced during the interaction segment, marking the start of an immersive and enriching learning journey. The session will conclude with a Vote of Thanks by Shri Padam Tatia, Secretary of RFJ, and will be compered by Dr. Santosh Surana, Executive Director – Jainology, RFJ.

    This initiative reflects the commitment of Jain Heritage Centres, under the facilitation of Shri Nitin H P, to promote and preserve Jain heritage.
