Rs 1.9 lac Worth Ornaments Stolen from Jain Basadi

    Mangalore (Karnataka), March 9, 2012: The trust running Jain Basadi located at Bajilakeri Bunder here, has filed a police complaint alleging that gold ornaments worth Rs 1.9 lac had been stolen from the Basadi. The complaint was filed at Bunder police station.

    The complaint explains that the priest of the Basadi had opened the doors of the Basadi early in the morning. At 6 am on Tuesday March 6, he had kept away the gold ornaments found on the idols of the deities in preparation for the morning puja. He went out to bring water for performing the puja, and by the time he came back, the ornaments had disappeared, the complaint said.

    Managing trustee of the Basadi, Suresh Shah, claimed in the complaint that ornaments weighing 84 grams and valued at Rs 1.9 lac rupees have gone missing. – News Courtesy:Daijiworld.com
