    Poondi is a village in the Thiruvallur taluk of Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu.

    Main Deity – About 3 feet high stone idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath in Kayotsarga.

    Arugar temple – This Digambar Jain temple is the chola style of architecture. It has been referred to as “Ponnezhilnathar Koil” in the Chola Inscriptions. It has a stone basement and a brick superstructure. Many Jain Stucco figures are found the Vimana. As per an inscriptional references of Sambuvarya The temple used to be called as “Viravira Jinalayam” during 13th century A.D. We can also find stone Digambar Jain idols of Tirthankar Chandranath, Choubis Tirthankar and Navadevata. It also has marble idols of Tirthankar Adinath and Parshwanath in padmasana.
