Jain Epigraphy

Jain Epigraphy is an online repository of Jain inscriptions in different languages spread all over the world with contributions by Jain scholars in India & abroad initiated in 2016.

Inscriptions have always been a great source of historical proof that helps us decide various aspects of the study. The kind of information it provides varies from inscription to inscription. It might provide some information related to a person, place, historical instance, practice of a ritual and so on. Thousands of inscriptions have been found across the globe, likewise, many Jain inscriptions related to Jainism are scattered all over India and abroad. This section is aimed at unearthing and showcasing such inscriptions. Owing to practical reasons it is really hard to publish all those inscriptions. We plan to showcase as many inscriptions as possible.

As we proceed the inscriptions will be organized based on geographical divisions. Many scholars working in the field of Jain Epigraphy in different universities & research establishments have expressed their willingness to support JHC in this noble cause.

Researchers who wish to publish their Jain Epigraphical research are always welcome to join us in this endeavor. Please feel free to contact us either by Email (info@jainheritagecentres.com) or phone (+91 9880818869).
